3 Types of Souls
When we observe people beginning to explore soul types, it is rarely out of casual, cozy curiosity. You do it because the math of your life simply doesn't add up. You have probably tried to fit into the standard boxes your entire life—career, relationships, societal structures—and cognitively, your head understands exactly how it should work. But your body is telling a completely different story. There is a heaviness, a chronic restlessness, or an openness that is so raw it physically hurts your nervous system.
Let us establish this right away: It is not a system failure within you. This is what happens when a specific frequency tries to land in a biological system that doesn't yet have the hardware or the capacity to hold it. If you are new to the idea that the soul has an origin and a purpose, our → Introduction to the Concept of the Soul is a good place to start.
Before we dive into the three types, we need to make one thing absolutely clear: This is not a personality test. It is not a label you stick on your chest to feel a little more special. In our practice, we see people use soul categories for exactly what they should never be used for: spiritual bypass. Saying, "I'm an angelic soul, so I can't help absorbing everyone else's pain," is not a profound insight. It is a sophisticated excuse to avoid doing the hard, grounded work of setting boundaries.
So, read this with your body, not your identity. Notice what resonates and what provokes you. Both reactions are vital data.
Earthling Souls: Heavy Roots and Deep Mud
Earthling souls have incarnated exclusively on this planet, often hundreds or thousands of times. When an advanced earthling sits across from us, their field feels massive, dense, and grounded—like a root system drilled directly into the bedrock.
Their primary energetic work and challenges are almost always locked in the lower three chakras: Root, Hara, and Solar Plexus. This is about survival, tribal belonging, and personal power. As we often discuss, to transcend the ego, you first have to build a healthy, strong ego. You have to refine your personality.
These are souls carrying generational and epigenetic trauma like geological layers compressed over millennia. These are massive "knots" of stagnant energy, survival instincts, and fear that have sat there for so long that people mistake them for their actual personality. "That's just who I am"—no, that is a trauma lock you just haven't dared to breathe into and unlock yet.
The gift of the earthling soul is extreme resilience. They have been through the entire spectrum of human experience and possess an embodied wisdom that comes from doing the heavy lifting. The challenge is that all this lifting has also created an enormous amount of "mud" that needs to be cleared. Transformation for earthlings is excavation work. You have to dare to drop down into the uncomfortable, dark feelings—the rage, the grief, the powerlessness—and breathe through them to make room for higher consciousness to land. It's not glamorous. It is hard, daily work.
Earthling souls are part of → Earth's own evolutionary journey—their entire experiential foundation is bound to this planet's development cycle. Their work is not to transcend the earth, but to clean it up from within. As we explore in our podcast episode 26, "Where Does the Soul Come From" (Danish), the difference between being part of Earth's horizontal evolution and arriving with an influx from elsewhere is foundational to understanding your own system.

Interplanetary Souls (IPs): High Frequency, No Landing Gear
Interplanetary souls—IPs—have incarnated on other planets before arriving on Earth. Typically, they have fewer than fifty earthly lives under their belt. When an IP enters the space, their field feels radically different. It is high-frequency, but scattered. Almost like a powerful radio signal that simply cannot lock onto the right channel.
Energetically, IPs struggle immensely to pull their consciousness all the way down into the root. They are over-centered in the upper chakras—heart, throat, third eye—and they tend to observe human interaction from the outside. The sheer brutality and survival-driven nature of earthly existence genuinely confuses them. "Why on earth would anyone treat another person like that?" is a sentiment we constantly hear from IPs. It is not naivety; it is a frequency mismatch. They come from systems where this level of density and dualism does not exist.
The classic IP challenge is a chronic inability to fully land in the physical flesh. They are brilliant in the abstract, but ask them to stay present in their body during an emotional conflict with their partner, and their system floats right out the window. The body is sitting there, but nobody is home.
IPs are here for both personal and collective missions. The work consists of learning to ground those otherworldly frequencies directly into the human reality, into the lower chakras, without losing the signal or dissociating when it gets uncomfortable. You have to dare to step into the "dirt."
Episodes 26 and 41 of our podcast, "Where Does the Soul Come From" and "From Rigid Patterns to Advanced Souls" (Danish), go deeper into how IPs carry an intense inner pressure to release collective karma—while simultaneously learning to navigate a density their system was never designed for.

Angelic Souls: Boundless Light, No Membrane
When an angelic soul enters the room, you don't mistake it. The field radiates—an enormous, open light source completely devoid of natural boundaries. It is what we describe as carrying "angel dust." It is incredibly beautiful. And it is exactly the problem.
Angelic souls are historically coded to absorb darkness. That was their original mission: To suck in humanity's suffering, transmute it through their own system, and thereby raise the collective frequency. The challenge is that today, this coding runs blindly on autopilot. They have no protective membrane. They are the ultimate sponge—soaking up everyone's stagnant energy, undigested trauma, and emotional garbage until they are completely, bone-deep drained.
If you are an angelic soul, you already know the feeling. You walk into a room, and five minutes later you are carrying emotions that aren't yours. People in crisis—especially those with narcissistic traits or a victim mindset—are magnetically drawn to you, and you cannot say no, because your system literally doesn't comprehend that it is an option. You become a piece of candy that everyone sucks on until there is nothing left.
Here is the critical shift: The mission has changed. The old template of absorbing darkness is taken off the table. The new mission is to stand powerfully in your own light and set firm boundaries, inspiring others to take responsibility for their own mess. You must transition from being a sponge to being an immovable pillar of light. We address this shift extensively in episode 35 of our podcast, "A Guide to Angelic Souls" (Danish), where we differentiate sharply between full angelic souls and IPs carrying angel frequencies—and offer concrete tools for stopping the energy drain.
Episode 34, "The Angelic Realm and Earth's Development" (Danish), dives specifically into how the angelic realm functions as architects of Earth's archetypes and consciousness development—and why these extremely high frequencies struggle so intensely to land in human biology.

The Pitfalls That Keep You Stuck
This is where it gets muddy, and where the mind loves to play tricks.
The most widespread confusion is between angelic souls and IPs with "angel dust." An interplanetary soul can take on frequencies from the angelic realm to aid their development. They will suffer from the exact same boundary issues and exhaustion, but their core origin is interplanetary. The distinction is crucial because the energetic approach to healing is different.
The second classic misconception is the advanced earthling who mistakes their deep sensitivity for being from somewhere else. An old earthling soul—thousands of lives deep into the process—has developed an enormous capacity for compassion and an expanded awareness that can easily look and feel like angelic frequency. The difference is that the earthling is here for their own soul's maturation. An incarnated angel is here as a sacrifice—pure service. If you secretly hope you are an angel because it sounds a bit cooler and more special than being an earthling: notice that impulse. That is your ego, not your soul.

What Now?
Knowledge obligates. If something in this text made your body react—a tension in your solar plexus, a deep recognition, a relief—that is data. Do not just intellectualise it. The cognitive understanding of your soul type is merely step zero.
The real work is somatic and energetic. It requires you to call your field back home, close the holes in your bathtub, and stop leaking your vital energy into everyone else's unhealed systems.
For Earthlings: Start cleaning up. The mud doesn't dissolve just because you sit and think about it. Turn your gaze inward, breathe through the uncomfortable feelings, and take responsibility for your projections. → Earthling Souls and → The Soul's Journey are your entry points.
For IPs: Deploy your landing gear. Pull your awareness down into your feet, your belly, your root. You cannot serve this planet from orbit. → Interplanetary Souls and → Challenges for Interplanetary Souls go deeper.
For Angelic Souls: Build your white blood cells. Establish the membrane your system was never born with. Stop being an emotional trash can for others. Dare to let people face their own darkness. → Angelic Souls: Light Bearers with Challenges is non-negotiable reading, followed by → 6 Essential Tips for Angelic Souls.
And regardless of which type you resonate with—be critical and skeptical. Even towards this text. Your own inner compass, your own heart, is the only authority that truly matters. If it doesn't resonate in your body, throw it out. But if it does—then do something about it. Not tomorrow. Now.
