Mette Miriam Sloth CV
MA in Psychology and Philosophy
Mette Miriam Sloth (formerly Mette Carendi) holds an MA in Psychology and Philosophy, specializing in relational dynamics and emotional regulation. She has run an independent practice offering therapy, counseling, supervision, and teaching since 2012. Her unique method is a fusion of classical psychological knowledge, attachment theory, and deep energetic work.
Author & Communicator: Expert in Attachment and Relationships
Mette is the author of three books focusing on attachment, close relationships, and emotional development:
Conversations with My Imaginary Daughter (2021): A book on the feminine journey toward deeper connection in relationships, sexual liberation, and emotional maturity.
Turn on the Connection (2019): Understanding the art of attachment.
Harmonious Children (2015): On child psychology, love, and presence.
In 2023, she launched the podcast The Magdalene Effect and an accompanying YouTube channel with Sune Sloth, sharing insights on transformation, polarity, and energy work.
Foundation: Attachment Theory, Body Psychology & Healing
Mette’s professional foundation is broad and deep, allowing her to navigate both clinical psychology and transpersonal spirituality:
Academic: MA in Psychology and Philosophy. Her 2009 thesis explored the missing feminine motif in Western mythology and its negative consequences for human development—a core interest that today grounds The Magdalene Effect.
Attachment & Trauma: Certified Aware Parenting instructor (2012) with extensive studies in trauma resolution, emotional development, and attachment theory.
Consciousness Studies: Studies at CIIS in San Francisco focusing on East-West psychology and consciousness studies (2008).
Meditation & Channeling: Certified facilitator in meditation and transpersonal psychology by Kenneth Sørensen (2006). In 2004, she trained in channeling with Ilse Johannesen, reopening her connection to energy, the cosmos, and the soul.
Observations: Somatic Therapy Validated by Client Experiences
Mette's somatic Bottom-Up work is supported by an in-depth qualitative research report (2025). Based on 46 client interviews, the report maps how energetic clearing removes the emotional charge from old traumas, enabling lasting healing and nervous system regulation. Read the full report here.
Methods & Inspiration: Polarity, Shamanism, and Consciousness
Mette’s work is inspired by pioneers in both science and spirituality:
Polarity: In-depth study of David Deida, influencing her understanding of polarity and intimate relationship dynamics.
Gene Keys: Interest in Gene Keys (Richard Rudd) as a tool for soul understanding.
Shamanism: A solid understanding of shamanic practice through years of study with Alberto Villoldo and Lena & Jose Stevens.
Through her work in The Magdalene Effect, Mette unites these disciplines to assist with relational dynamics, parenting, blended families, and the feminine journey toward increased maturity.
